Furnace Process Control and Data Monitoring Systems

CompuDAS can provide the solution for Control, Monitoring & Data Acquisition Systems for your operating Industrial Furnace.  If you need to replace, update or upgrade your control system, contact CompuDAS today.

Whether you’re running a stand-alone furnace, or a furnace as part of a multi-station processing system, we can design and install a furnace control system installation that is right for you.  Our systems control furnace temperature by user recipe as part(s) move to several processing stations.  Parts can be tracked by bar code. Stations include ovens and curing baths and, of course, the furnace.  Parts or batches can be tracked by job number, serial number, or other tracking codes.

What are the benefits of a CompuDAS Industrial Furnace Control System?

Installation of a Control System on existing equipment can allow a company to continue using an existing furnace, and avoid new equipment purchase and expensive modifications to the building or floor plan. Keeping your existing equipment also allows more flexibility in choosing a control system best suited for your needs.

Cool down and automatic door opening control is always included as standard in the CompuDAS Furnace Control System. Our software is also tailored to control the number of stations and the customers’ specific report requirements.

Furnace Monitoring and Data Acquisition

All process data is recorded and stored electronically.  Alarm conditions, which are set per your custom needs, generate local alarms and alerts by email.  Your furnace process can also be monitored from remote locations.

Dynamic Auto Tuning is standard with all CompuDAS systems.  This feature compensates for the different heating times between loads of large mass and small mass.  This can result in a significant reduction of processing times.

6 Furnace Control System Case Study

CompuDAS supplied a 6-station control system to IKS Saw. This control system provided temperature control of batch parts as the batch moved to each of six furnaces or baths. Each batch location was monitored with a bar code scanner, and location-sensitive data was recorded and save for each batch.

Operator screens provide for the creation of batch recipes for each segment.  With an integrated system, such as the one we installed for IKS saw, the recipes and data acquisition at each station can be designed according to unique parameters of interest, yet the data storage on every detail of the process completely integrated.

New Furnace Control System vs. New Furnace: Site Survey

Each Control System installation is as unique as your shop. To give you our honest appraisal of the benefits of installing our Control System vs. a new furnace, we will collect as much information as possible about the equipment and how it is used in order to determine the best configuration for an upgrade. It helps if an accurate schematic is available, although it is possible to survey the installation and create a schematic if one is not at hand.

Other information that is helpful includes such factors as manufacturer and age of the equipment.  If you are installing a control system for multiple processing stations, we’ll need to know about any modifications; heat source; pressure supply; type of controls needed for heat, pressure, venting, vacuum, cooling, atmosphere, etc.; set point requirements; quantities and types of sensors; types of fail-safe equipment; alarm conditions; controls for doors; and switches to be monitored. The more information that can be provided, the better.
