Glass Laminating - Autoclave & Oven Control Systems

CompuDAS offers Control, Monitoring and Data Acquisition Systems designed for Glass Laminating Ovens and AutoClaves Control Systems.

Laminated, or safety, glass is the standard in many modern uses of glass, from automotive to architectural applications.  Produced by bonding layers annealed or tempered glass with a plastic interlayer (often either polyvinyl butyryl or ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA)), glass laminating often requires to use of ovens, autoclaves, and/or vacuums to prevent air pockets that can ruin an entire batch. Further controlled heating is integral part of manufacture, usually under pressure in an autoclave or oven.  CompuDAS can provide integrated Control Systems to monitor, control, and provide permanent tamper-proof data acquisition for these glass lamination processes.

Laminated glass has a plastic interlayer which softens impact energy. The resultant material has a wide range of applications, from preventing splintering upon impact, providing great sound dampening, improved safety in automotive and building uses, etc.  Because of this, our Control Systems have been installed for customers in a wide range of manufacturing. If you’d like to understand how CompuDAS can help you control, monitor, and acquire tamper proof data on your laminated glass manufacture processes, call or email us today.

What kind of safety glass products has CompuDAS provided control systems for?

A wide range of laminate glass products made with machine complexes running CompuDAS control systems.  We’ve provided control and data acquisition for customers making glass laminate products including:

  • triple laminates
  • glass thicker than standard ¼”
  • bullet-resistant glass and other glass laminates using polycarbonate
  • glass products using thermoplastic materials, thermoset EVA, thermoset PVB, thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU).
  • Laminated glass with an LED (light emitting diodes) interlayer

What laminated glass processes can CompuDAS design a Control System for?

We’ve designed and implemented custom control systems for several different laminated glass manufacturing processes.  These processes include:

  • Glass laminating processes using two or more pieces of glass bonded between one or more pieces of adhesives
  • Safety glass processes using two or more pieces of glass and polycarbonate, bonded together with aliphatic urethane or EVA interlayer
  • Laminated glass process that produce glass interlaid with a cured resin or EVA

How can I find out what CompuDAS can offer us?

Each install of a CompuDAS Control System is unique.  We can provide a custom Control System for nearly any portion of your process  that involves autoclave with or without vacuum bagging or oven annealing of glass laminate.  The specifics of CompuDAS’ proposed system will come from our understanding your physical space, particular equipment, and the particular temperature, pressure, and other parameter control your system requires. Call or email us so that we can get the information necessary to discuss how we may meet your exact needs.  We’ll go over your specific needs to see how a CompuDAS Control System can improve the consistency, quality, and reproducibility of your glass laminate processes.
