Sentinel – stand alone process controller

Years before the personal computer was introduced, CompuDAS systems were on the job in industrial control and data acquisition. Rugged and reliable then as they are now the Sentinel industrial control systems have been on the job since 1978.

The Sentinel is a stand-alone controller with it’s own real-time multi-tasking, multi-user operating system. The user interface (UI) is handled via a network connected Windows PC.  The UI offers a full-featured Recipe Definition and Configuration, Job Setup, Color Graphing, and easy End-to-End Calibration screens.

Analog Input

  • Channels: 30 full differential channels (with thermocouple cold junction compensation). Expandable to 420 channels.
  • Accuracy: 0.01% at 25 Deg. C typical. 0.02% across temperature operating range
  • Warm up Time: 5 minutes to 0.02%
  • Resolution: 16 bits
  • Multiplexing: FET differential analog switches
  • Impedance: >10 Meg ohms DC + 300 pF
  • Gain Steps: 1-3-10-30-100-300-1000
  • Conversion: Normal 100 microseconds per measurement

Analog Output

  • Channels: 8 user channels (+/- 10 volts on all, 4-20mA current on 4 of 8 channels). Expandable as required
  • Accuracy: 0.1% at 25 degrees C typical
  • Resolution: 12 bitVoltage: – 10 volts to +10 volts (5mA source/sink)
  • Current: 4 to 20mA (12 volt compliance)
  • Settling Time: 100 usec to 0.01%

Digital I/O

  • Lines: 80 bit level programmable lines, 64 with hardware pattern matching. Expandable as required
  • Input Levels: TTL (Low <= 0.8 Volts, High >= 2.0 Volts)
  • Output Levels: TTL (Low <=0.4 Volts, High >= 2.4 Volts)
  • Output Options: Mechanical and Solid State Relays
